Simon Jacomet

Born in 1963 in Disentis, in the Graubünden canton of Switzerland,
Simon Jacomet studied art in Florence, supporting himself by working as
a ski instructor trainer. An architect and artist, in the Nineties Simon
worked as a product developer for Völkl and Salomon before co-founding
zai in 2003 in his hometown. zai skis are individually handcrafted and
stem from the pioneering use of materials and innovative manufacturing
techniques, as well as extensive research into human movement. The company’s
goal is to provide customers with an unparalleled ski experience, as
well as unique longevity. In 2011, zai was chosen as the offi cial ski of the
FIS World Alpine Ski Championships in Garmisch-Partenkirchen.
